Lots of very thin celebs such as Kate Bosworth and Nicole Richie seem to replace eating food with drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes and eating raw fish in small quantities, some celebs such as desperate housewives actress Eva Longoria are even said to be a size double zero, but the sizing seems to change with each dress company, waist sizes can vary between 23 inches to 25 inches for size 0 and 22 inches to 24 inches for size 00.
Size zero is the US equivalent to a UK size 4, but depending on where you buy the dress the size can vary a lot Miss Selfridge, Top Shop and even Asda have all started to sell size zero dresses and they are all different sizes, size zero is the average size of an eight year old girl but if you are not an eight year old then being this thin can lead to loss of periods, your hair falling out, getting dry skin and even thinning bones which can cause you problems in later life.
The British Fashion Council has not put a ban on size zero models but it has discouraged designers from using anorexic models for London Fashion Week and girls with a BMI of less than 18 will not be used as this is classed as underweight by the World Health Organisation, this could cause a problem because many top models have a BMI of around 16, such as Kate Moss, Lily Cole & Giselle Bundchen.
Victoria Beckham has banned size zero models from promoting her fashion range of clothes saying that she prefers girls with curves and Brazilian model Ana Caroline Reston died after supposedly eating only apples and tomatoes for months to get to a size zero.
